Juglans Nigra

In 1966 I was a tree feller in the Northeastern Collegiate Forestry Conference. OK, so it's not NCAA basketball. It was fun and very, very health.
Unlike basketball, tree felling remains a useful skill, especailly if your backyard has been overtaken by Juglans Nigra, aka, Black Walnut trees. These photos by Dolores witness the first 50th of the task of removing the second of eight trees to be cut. The project will continue way past the felling of the trees. Check back some day.
